The world’s best-selling pick-up, the Ford F-150, has been given a substantial upgrade in performance, thanks to a partnership between Performax International and Tickford.

Performax International, one of Australia’s leading independent American vehicle importers has collaborated with Tickford, Australia’s leading aftermarket vehicle personalisation company, to develop the F-150 Tickford Enhancement Package.

The right-hand drive F-150 sees the popular twin-turbo 3.5 litre V6 EcoBoost engine receive a boost in power and torque using Tickford’s in-house developed ECU tune. The re-calibration has been engineered to provide both improved response and driveability to the V6, with power increased between 21%-26% from 280 kW and torque increased between 17%-22% from 637 Nm.

Elsewhere, Tickford has focussed on the F-150’s ride and handling by incorporating Fox 2.0 shocks and springs accompanied by Tickford 20″ x 9″ sport wheels featuring BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres. The extra lift of two inches creates a more menacing stance for an already tall vehicle and provides optimum visibility, especially when towing using given the 5 tonne towing capacity.

The sporty appearance continues with Tickford decals on the side, bonnet and tailgate, along with low profile wheel flare guards, and not forgetting the twin black-tipped cat-back exhaust system, which completes the tough look of the legendary F-Series.

What is the Tickford warranty period?

The Tickford warranty period is 12 months for parts and up to 36 months / 100,000kms for driveline, depending on the conditions and exclusions met. eg. 1. Date of registration of the vehicle. 2. Track use.

Will my Ford warranty be affected with a Tickford tune or enhancement?

The current Ford warranty conditions state ‘… any damage resulting from non-genuine parts or accessories will not be covered.’(www.ford.com.au/about-ford/faq/) However, the likelihood of any damage resulting from a Tickford tune or enhancement is very low due to the nature of how the tune or enhancement has been developed. Tickford goes to great lengths to comply with national compliance regulations and our own strict quality operating procedure. In the unlikely event of a OEM warranty conflict, Tickford will work with Ford to ensure a satisfactory result is provided to the customer.

Tickford has successfully carried out countless tunes on Mustang, Ranger, Everest and F-150 models for the last few years.

Do I need to change my service schedule to meet the Tickford warranty?

Normal Ford log book servicing intervals must be maintained to meet the warranty terms and conditions. In addition, limitations have been placed on vehicles with superchargers or operating under a certain load or environmental condition as stated under ‘Exclusions and Limitations’ in the Tickford warranty – www.tickford.com.au/warranty. Eg. 1. Track use. 2. Extreme use.
