Tickford is returning to the Australian automotive scene with the re-emergence of the brand offering vehicle personalisation packages on a range of models, starting with the Ford Ranger and Mustang nameplates.

The brand, returning to Australia for the first time since 2001, is commencing retail operations in October with Tickford Modification Centres opening in Melbourne shortly, Sydney this year and a Brisbane-based site in 2017.

Vehicle personalisation packages will be available directly via the Tickford Modification Centres on current model Ranger, plus all Australian variants of the all-new Mustang.

Tickford intends to deliver ‘Performance driven by Passion’ and ensure the domestic performance vehicle market retains a strong, ongoing presence.

“Everyone at Tickford is excited to be providing Australian automotive enthusiasts with a new option for vehicle personalisation, while ensuring we maintain the strong engineering roots of the brand’s previous incarnations,” said CEO Tim Edwards.

“We’ve been working for nearly two years, away from the public eye, to ensure we developed a strong business model with a set of guiding principles which allows us to develop and deliver premium products.

“The Australian vehicle personalisation market has a long and well-credentialed history, but we felt the time was right to provide a fresh take on things and give Blue Oval fans something extra to be passionate about.

“We’re lucky to have class-leading product in Ranger and Mustang to start our personalisation program.

“This has allowed us to focus strongly on component development and testing so we come to market with components tested to manufacturers’ standard and backed by our own warranty.

“This ensures the best possible product and maximum peace-of-mind for our customers.”

Tickford’s return to the Australian automotive scene is led by the ownership group behind reigning Supercars Champions, Prodrive Racing (Australia) and Managing Director Rod Nash believes Tickford will only enhance the credentials of the group.

“The earliest incarnation of Tickford dates back 196 years and every iteration of the company has always placed engineering excellence at the centre of its vehicle personalisation programs,” Mr Nash said.

“That history gives us all a tremendous sense of pride as well as an understanding we need to deliver a well-engineered product that gives passionate vehicle owners something unique and of the highest standard.

“Our race team is at the forefront of vehicle engineering and innovation and within it are disciplined and successful engineers and marketers due to their years of success on and off the race track.

“While these factors will be central to the successful development of our personalisation products, Tickford will bring its own strengths and ideas to the group.

“To me, it is a great addition to the Australian automotive engineering scene.”

Tim Edwards echoed Nash’s sentiments and believes the new program will offer something for every generation of performance vehicle fans and owners.

“Tickford has been a much-heralded automotive brand since its inception and has delivered performance programs for a wide variety of models and we intend to continue that tradition,” Mr Edwards said.

“We are direct descendants of Tickford’s last incarnation and think delivering personalisation packages for the iconic Mustang halo car and class-leading Ranger is both in keeping with Tickford’s history, while also a clear nod to the future.

“The local automotive engineering industry is enduring its most challenging time ever so we see the re-emergence of Tickford and with it a new generation of Australian performance vehicles, as the ideal way to give vehicle enthusiasts something to get excited about.”

Tickford’s first offering will be personalisation options for current model Ranger and will include powertrain and ride and handling tuning, plus exterior and interior styling options.
