Tickford Racing and The Bottle-O are pleased to unveil a new livery to be raced by Mark Winterbottom and Dean Canto in this year’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, released in conjunction with the newest Tickford vehicle enhancement package available for the Ford Mustang, the TSV-535R.
The new look for the No. 5 The Bottle-O Ford Falcon FG X, which will debut at next weekend’s Great Race, carries special design elements incorporated into the TSV-535R. Made famous locally by the XC Falcon hardtop, the brainchild of Edsel Ford II that hit the market in 1978, the bold blue stripes over white are a nod to other Ford hero cars of the time, featuring the iconic American racing colours, recognisable on numerous historically significant racing cars since the 1950s
Rod Nash, Tickford managing director and Tickford Racing co-owner, lauded the partnership which has seen Car 5 transform from the archetypal The Bottle-O green to the classic Sno White with Bold and Olympic Blue that now adorn the Ford.
“We’ve enjoyed a fantastic partnership with The Bottle-O and are thrilled with this new project and the new look of The Bottle-O Ford,” said Nash. “To tie in our racing partnership with the vehicle enhancement business adds another dimension to our relationship, and we thank The Bottle-O for their willingness to join us in this endeavour. The design is unmistakable as a winning car, and we would like nothing more than to add to that win tally at the Mountain.”
Rod Pritchard, chief executive officer of Australian Liquor Marketers, is looking forward to seeing The Bottle-O Falcon’s new livery on track next weekend.
“We’re very excited to debut this new look of The Bottle-O Ford,” Pritchard said. “Bathurst is of course a very special event, and we’ve been happy to run a special livery on the car the past few years. The Bottle-O prides itself on making a personal connection with its customers, and motor racing has helped us forge relationships with thousands of dedicated fans over the years. This fantastic car adds to a long list of memories we’ve made with our supporters, and with Frosty and Dean, we will hopefully share another memory next Sunday at the Bathurst 1000.”
The Bottle-O Ford Falcon FG X first takes to Mount Panorama next Thursday, October 4, for first practice ahead of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000. 2013 race winner Mark Winterbottom is paired with Dean Canto for the third consecutive year, as the duo look to score a win in Australia’s greatest race.
The TSV-535R package itself – applied to a white 2018/2019 Mustang Coupe GT – includes a carbon fibre aero kit, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, unique seven spoke wheels, build specific Alcantara and nappa leather interior, a carbon fibre/leather steering wheel, and the classic blue American racing stripes, along with a plethora of performance upgrades, most notably the newly introduced ECU re-calibration, bulking the GT package to produce 400kW (535 horsepower) of power and 632Nm of torque to the road. The engineering-led package also includes a 3-year/100,000 kilometre Tickford driveline warranty, and an individual build plaque for each package sold.
“The TSV-535R is inspired by several historically significant cars in the Ford line up,” Nash continued, “and we are excited to present it and add to the legacy that cars like it have laid out before. The extensive upgrade list included with the vehicle is wildly impressive, and I commend the work our team has done. We bleed blue at Tickford. The TSV-535R gets that blood pumping, and we can’t wait to put all 400kW of it on the road.”
